We see a group of pursuers in the background, a search dog dominating the foreground, and a person crouching in the upper right corner, hiding outside this scene. They are trying to be outside the dimension that obviously threatens them, a possibility that is denied to us humans. We cannot choose dimensions other than those given to us here on Earth. Your karma will find you, those who want to get you will catch you—that’s for sure. For the dog, it’s just a fun game and he wants to be successful. His naive soul wants to track down the target. He has no idea that in doing so, he is betraying someone. In this idealized image, however, the group will not succeed, because their victim is outside their reality.
This theme belongs to the cards, a recurring series of motifs.

Another interpretation of the theme can be found in the watercolor painting “Bear Hunt.” Climbing a tree to escape the pack of dogs is a short-sighted solution, as it won’t be long before the hunters and dog handlers arrive.
