Blatt 31 aus dem blauen Skizzenbuch, Richscribble-Aquarell, Zülpich 2023
This pale sheet from the blue sketchbook contains some beautiful artifacts. First, I edited the original scan with a white balance adjustment.
The third image shows the original after color matching. From this version, I isolated an orange artifact and processed it further as a giclée print.
You can purchase this outstanding print in my shop at malamadita.de and support me in this way.
I continued to explore this theme using watercolors to find out what motivated me to choose this particular structure and these colors. With this enormous enlargement, I succeeded in preserving the paper fibers of the sketchbook page, and I am also very satisfied with the sharpness. The contrast provides a 3D experience. The entire structure of the artifact appears as if it had been deliberately constructed. The image could be “sold” as a photo of a Mars rover. With the bright trail from the upper left corner, the print gives an impression of movement.
Artifact interpretation

I really like the implementation. I replaced the fibrous background of the original with an interesting, but also more moving texture, and expanded the strictly reduced palette a little. The character of a “beaten stone” has been consistently worked into the image, because that is how I had interpreted this artifact up to now.

After examining it, I realize that the constructive character of the original artifact, with its Mars-like orange appearance and monotonous vegetation of fibers, must have moved me to choose it. Nevertheless, I consider my initial interpretation to be an interesting representation, which you can purchase in my shop malamadita.de. This enables me to produce interesting, creative content.
